Plein air - third week in Teatro O Bando, Palmela, Portugal
24. June 2010 | SvenIn the last few weeks we had two big highlights – the exhibition opening of the Plein Air 2010 on 24th June 2010 and the Midsummer night´s theatre on 26th June 2010.
On 24th June 2010 our Plein Air in Palmela Portugal ended with a celebration of the exhibition opening. At 19:30 a big crowd assembled in the foyer of Teatro O Bando, among them was the Minister of Culture of the City of Palmela. The artistic directors Joao Brites (Teatro O Bando) and Dirk Neldner (Platform11+) welcomed the numerous guests. Andrew Siddall, the manager of the visual arts introduced the 13 visual artists who have worked here on the hill for three weeks. Afterwards the artists presented their mostly interactive pieces of art on their spots. The visitors could discover the 12 installations and investigate the artists. Their work will stay on the hill. The opening of the exhibition is at the same time the beginning of the Second Annual Encounter of all the participants of Platform11+. During that Encounter they have shown 15-minute-sequences of their national productions and explained to the other partner theatres their working processes.
